INTERINCLUSIVE

Interinclusive is a professional training project within the framework of international
cooperation projects under the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. PlayMore! implemented
the project (ITA) in partnership with Associaciò Alba (ESP) and Joy of Life (POL), reaching three main objectives:

1) to promote the entry of people with disabilities into the labor market;

2) to improve the internal competencies of each organization regarding the employment of people with disabilities;

3) to raise awareness in the corporate world about the inherent opportunities and support tools for including
people with disabilities in the corporate environment.

1st Exchange of Practices – Tàrrega

As the first activity of the project, we traveled to Tàrrega, Spain, to learn about Associació Alba. Over the past year, this social enterprise has successfully engaged 349 people with disabilities, promoting widespread housing autonomy services, educational and recreational initiatives with the involvement of the local community, and job opportunities in the fields of catering, gardening, laundry, cleaning, and confectionery. We visited their training, production, and employment facilities spread throughout the area, learning from experienced professionals and meeting the key participants of the project firsthand.

2nd Exchange of Practices – Byalistok

In the second training phase of the project, we arrived in Dąbrowa Białostocka, in the Bialystok district of Poland. The association Joy of Life, which is very active in supporting people with disabilities in every aspect of their lives – from basic needs to socialization, and job placement – showed us the facilities, equipment, and activities developed in the area. The most interesting part was exploring private and public facilities active in providing support and employment services for people with disabilities, accompanied by significant awareness-raising efforts aimed at a cultural transformation of the perception of people with disabilities and their role in society, against historical stereotypes and mistrust.

Training Event – Milan

In a more intimate setting, the project’s main training event was held, synthesizing what was learned over the past two years of study visits and collaboration with national and international experts selected from the partner organizations’ territories. The result is available for free download from the Erasmus+ Project Result Platform – its use is recommended for all professionals in the field of job placement for people with disabilities who wish to enhance their knowledge of the subject and improve their professional skills, benefiting more inclusive organizations and societies at large.

Dissemination Event – Milan

As the final act of the project, PlayMore! organized a dissemination event in Milan. A day full of insights and discussions saw the participation of the staff of PlayMore!, families of people with disabilities who attend the sports center, residents with disabilities, educators and specialists in job placement from local organizations, representatives of Milan’s institutions, and representatives from local businesses. To facilitate the participation of the partner organizations’ staff, professional interpreters with disabilities were also involved.
